Broadside reprinting "general orders 99" that were issued, 16 Oct. 1867, by [Major] General [Edward Richard Sprigg] Canby, from "Headquarters 2nd Military District, Charleston, S.C." re registration of voters, etc., in preparation for an election to be held 19-20 Nov. 1867; broadside identifies five polling places that would be open in Lexington District, 4-8 Nov. 1867. Several months following this election, a convention that met during Jan.-Mar. 1868, drafted the new South Carolina Constitution of 1868.
