In a c.1938 photo, a latticed brick wall and a gate have been added to the rear of the kitchen wing at Bellefield. Blueprints for the gate, drawn by well-known landscape architects Umberto Innocenti and Richard Webel of Long Island, New York, still exist. They created plans for Bellefield grounds, and landscape designer Barbara Donohoe laid out most of the pathways, trees and shrubs between 1936 and 1940.
